Live Betting & Streaming

Ladbrokes is known for its live betting facilities. With many sports, you may simply browse the normal odds section, or you can head to the main menu where there is a ‘Live Betting’ section.

Using this section allows you to see all the live betting action in one place. There are usually live odds displayed for cricket, basketball, soccer, tennis, snooker, volleyball, darts and more.

Live Betting Disclaimer: Please note: due to the Interactive Gambling Act in Australia, any form of live betting cannot be conducted online. Play betting can only be conducted via telephone.

There is some live streaming available on the Ladbrokes website.

Live streaming isn’t readily available on many sports, but the brand is allowed to show horse racing from Victoria. That of course brings in Flemington and the Melbourne Cup.

Next to any races for which live streaming is offered, you will see the ‘Live 1’ or ‘Live 2’ icons. Click on these, and the feed will open up. It comes in perfect quality and features live commentary too which really adds to what is a decent live betting platform.

Sports Betting Markets

We fully expected a brand of this size to offer a large range of sports betting markets. We weren’t disappointed in that regard. You can bet on:

American football, Aussie rules, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, eSports, Gaelic sports, golf, handball, ice hockey, motorsports, netball, novelty, politics, pool, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, soccer, surfing, table tennis, tennis, UFC, volleyball.

That’s some list in fairness. Whether you’re a fan of the Premier League, NBA, the Rugby Championship, NRL or AFL, there is a betting market for you. Some of them have live betting, many are very deep.

The biggest sports, soccer included, have many markets attached to each game. You can bet on scorers, total goals, both teams to score and many other things.

Ladbrokes of course has its roots in the horse racing industry, so it’s no surprise that there is a big focus on that sport. Racing markets are plentiful, showing not just Australian and New Zealand racing but also many events from right around the world.

We found Ladbrokes’ odds to be unexceptional, but fair. They stand up well versus other major brands. That being said, their traders are very good and it’s possible that they will be lower priced on certain major favourites than other brands when they are truly well fancied.

The Ladbrokes Card

Though we cover payment options later, it’s important to mention the Ladbrokes Card.

This card gives punters access to their winnings instantly. The idea is that you can claim your winnings onto your card, then use it to purchase anything where Mastercard is accepted.

Here’s how it works and how you can get one:

  1. Request your own Ladbrokes card. Log into your account, click on ‘Ladbrokes Card’ within ‘My Account’. You can request a card from this page.
  2. Activate the card. It may take up to ten days to receive your Ladbrokes card. Once you do, activate it online in the ‘My Account’ section.
  3. Withdraw cash. Assuming you have a funded account and/or you have won, then you can withdraw funds back onto your Ladbrokes card.

Once there is money on your Ladbrokes card, you can use it to pay for goods and services. Use the card anywhere Mastercard is accepted for contactless, or even for ATM withdrawals.

The beauty of the card is that, though Ladbrokes’ deal with Mastercard, your winnings go into the card instantly. There is no delay. Apart from anything else, this is what has made it popular with punters.

📱 Ladbrokes App

The best news of all is that there is a sports betting app available for punters in Australia.

Our Ladbrokes review found that the app works very well. It is fast, intuitive and has all the features you find on the main and mobile sites including all betting markets, banking facilities, customer service, live streaming and more.

You can download the Ladbrokes app for free for all devices.

To download the app for iOS devices, simply:

  1. Head to the Apple App Store.
  2. In the search bar, type ‘Ladbrokes’.
  3. Click ‘Get’ on the appropriate app.
  4. The app will download for free.

For those using Android devices, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the apps icon.
  2. Go to the Play Store.
  3. In the search facility, type ‘Ladbrokes’.
  4. Select the Ladbrokes app and tap ‘Install’.

If you’re already using the Ladbrokes site, head to the bottom left of the screen. There are direct links to the app for both iOS and Android.

✔️ Ladbrokes License and Security

A hugely important part of any critique, including our latest Ladbrokes review, is licensing and security.

We have no worries about Ladbrokes in terms of security. They are safe to place a bet with and everything is up to code.

Ladbrokes are licensed around the world. In Australia, their license was granted by the Northern Territory Racing Commission. Though trading as Ladbrokes, they are part of Entain and it’s the parent company who has the license, a reputable company at that.

As well as that, your info is also kept secure. Ladbrokes uses Secure Sockets Layer 2018-bit encryption. This is what keeps your financial information and personal data safe from hackers.

We also checked on the Ladbrokes privacy and safer gambling policies. The privacy policy is definitely up to date, so you can see how they use your data. You may question this and anything else with their customer service team if you have worries.

You can also contact gambling charities via links from the Ladbrokes site. South Australia residents are reminded that Ladbrokes are governed by a Code of Practice.

On top of this, reminders are always there for customers to put their own betting limits in place and set their pre-commitment limit.

💳 Ladbrokes Deposits and Withdrawals

You’d expect a major firm such as this to have a huge number of payment options. In fact, our Ladbrokes review didn’t uncover as many as we’d expect, though the basic methods are all there:

Deposit MethodFeeProcess TimeMinimum
mastercardFree*Instant$10
Free*Instant$10
poliFree*Instant$10
paypalFreeInstant$10
Ladbrokes CardFreeInstant$10
FreeInstant (in store)$10
Cash-InFreeInstant (in store)$10
BPAYFree1-3 business days$200
EFT/Bank DepositFree1-3 business days$10
Pay IDFreeInstantLimit dictated by bank

*Your bank, credit card company or eWallet may charge fees. Please check to see if these apply. Ladbrokes will not charge you to deposit to an account.

Customers can use Cash-In at any Australian newsagent. Flexipin is a top-up voucher while the Ladbrokes card can be used just like a debit card to deposit or withdraw.

Deposit times on the site are fair, while withdrawals will hit your account in good time too.

While withdrawing via a credit or debit card may take 1-3 working days, using a Ladbrokes card makes it instant.

You can use the mobile site, main site or app to make withdrawals too which is very convenient.

⭐ Ladbrokes Customer Service

What we really wanted to find in our Ladbrokes review was a live chat option.

Find one, we did. What we liked about it was that you can get one-to-one customer support this way, live and still in writing. Your session won’t be shut down until your questions are answered so live chat is always the way we’d go.

You can use this service for Ladbrokes open account queries, questions about when/how to apply your code, cashing out problems and basically anything else. The only problem we found is that the response time isn’t quite what it could be, with a few minutes wait to be expected.

Customer service is also not 24 hours. It is open from 8am to 11pm Queensland time.

You can also get in touch via social media, which may lead to delays but is a modern way of doing it, while those wishing to phone can do so on +61 8 6193 7297. Operators are knowledgeable and friendly.

Ladbrokes Review Conclusion

An age-old brand, always popular with racing punters, Ladbrokes remains one of the biggest online betting sites in the world.

Our Ladbrokes review found plenty of positives, for sure. Sports betting markets are plentiful, odds are fair and there is also some live streaming available.

We’d like to see customer service being available round the clock, something that would better replicate the current global sporting world.

Other than that, everything’s good. Given the size and trustworthiness of the brand, our Ladbrokes review finds that Australian punters should have no worries.
